Preparing for a Mindful Spring
You are cordially invited to take part in a four week exploration of mind, body, and heart through the profound yet subtle practice of mindfulness meditation. Having been discovered some 2600+ years ago, mindfulness is a time tested and reliable method of bringing forward positive qualities that lie dormant in the minds and hearts of each and every one of us.
Qualities such as a sense of strength, stability, and clarity. Each of which, when recognized, can help us navigate the uncertainties of the modern age.
Not only has this practice been effectively recreated in cultures all across the world, it’s also been studied extensively through the Western scientific lens. The results have been shown to dramatically reduce stress, regulate our nervous systems, and to generate important insights into our lives.
In this course, you’ll learn the basics of establishing a consistent mindfulness practice for your busy life. Each meeting will consist of a lecture period in which we’ll explore the basic principles of practice - what it is, what it isn’t, and how to properly frame it in your wellness journey. You’ll then receive guided instruction into the meditation where we will then practice together for 20 minutes. After our practice session, the floor will be open for Q&A where you can receive guidance on how to fit this into your unique circumstances.
Students are expected to practice at home for the duration of the four week series. We’ll be aiming at five days a week for a consistent length of time that fits your schedule.
